Stadium Stride . Find your stride

A student movement for mental health

Let's talk about it .

Out loud. In the open.

Stadium Stride exists to make mental health and wellness part of the everyday conversation on campus, and to grow the services and support students can count on, at every school in the country.

Why we run

A lot of students carry stress, anxiety and hard seasons quietly. They show up to class, to practice, to work, and nobody asks how they're really doing.

Talking about it shouldn't take courage. It should feel as normal as asking about a test or a race.

So we picked the loudest place on campus. When thousands of students run laps together for mental health, it says something out loud that's hard to say alone: you're not the only one, and help is close.

What we want
to see

Our picture of a campus where wellness is part of daily life.

How we
get there

Three things Stadium Stride does at every school.

Talk .

Real student stories, shared on race day and online, so the conversation keeps going long after the last lap.

Show up .

Dorms, clubs, chapters and teams fill a stadium together. Walkers welcome. Being there is the point.

Fund .

Every lap raises money for established mental health charities that grow services and support for students.

How a Stride
works

One stadium. One morning.

Pass the
baton

Squads and big club and chapter teams pass a baton around a college stadium for a few hours. Every lap is counted, and partners turn those laps into dollars for student mental health.

  1. Build a team Dorms, clubs, chapters, teams or a few friends. Solo runners get placed on a team.
  2. Run or walk laps Pace doesn't matter. Showing up together does.
  3. Laps become dollars Lap matches and donations go straight to a local mental health charity.
  4. Keep talking Stories from the day keep the conversation going after the last lap.

Partnerships

Stadium Stride works because people with the same goal pull together. We partner with three kinds of teams.

Questions

The short version of how Stadium Stride works.

What is Stadium Stride?

A team relay around a college stadium that gets students talking about mental health and raises money for local mental health charities. It's run by Stadium Stride LLC.

Do I have to be a runner?

No. Walk every lap if you want. Teams are ranked on laps, money raised and spirit, and the whole point is showing up together.

Can our whole club or chapter run?

Yes. Big teams can run several batons at once, and all of your laps count toward one team total.

Where does the money go?

Donations and lap pledges go straight to a local mental health charity chosen with each campus, so that money never passes through us. Stadium Stride also gives 15% of every entry fee and merch sale to the same charity.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Donations made on the partner charity's page usually are, and the charity sends the receipt. Entry fees usually aren't, since you get a shirt and an event.

How is a lap counted?

Each team has a numbered baton and a volunteer counter at the exchange zone. A lap counts when the baton crosses the line.

What support is there on the day?

Counseling staff or trained volunteers are on site, with a quiet room and resource cards at every table.

How do I bring it to my school?

Find your stadium on the map and vote, or email contact@runstadiumstride.com. Votes help us decide where to go next.
